SECONDHAND SERENADE VIDEO IN THE WORKS

Secondhand Serenade recently shot a video for the song "Vulnerable". It was directed by Frank Borin, whose worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and Eminem. Look for it on your favorite video station soon. I can' wait to see it!

ABOUT SECONDHAND SERENADE

John Vesely, who it is said has the vocal range of an 80s hair band, and looks to rival Elvis, wandered through life, from band to band, finding that he could never settle with just one. Then in the summer of 2004, John decided to do it his own way and go solo.

To distinguish himself from the typical singer/songwriter, John adopts the name Secondhand Serenade - a name with far fewer limits than "John". The name Secondhand Serenade allows him to be free to do whatever he feels like, from a solo performance to ten musicians on stage at once.

Secondhand Serenade took off like John couldn't believe - the crowd at live shows and an ever increasing online presence (not least his MySpace page, with a massive 140,000+ friends) prompted him to release his debut album, Awake.

Perfectionist that he is, the studio was top of the range, and John produced the entire ten tracks himself. John not only organised the recording, but everything down to the performances and packaging. And all of this without any label backing.

All of this care and attention paid off, with album sales rocketing and single releases, such as Maybe, doing well on popular radio stations.

A recording contract is now a possibility, but until that day, Secondhand Serenade will continue to independently prosper.

MY IDOL - SECONDHAND SERENADE

Secondhand Serenade ? Pernah denger lagu-lagunya ? Band atau bukan sih ?

Nah saat ini kita kan membahas Musisi yang satu ini. Baru-baru ini Secondhand Serenade sukses menggelar konser di Bandung dan Surabaya pada 8 dan 9 Januati 2011 ini. Secondhand Serenade terbentuk tahun 2004 di California, USA oleh seseorang bernama John Joseph Vesely yang membuat Secondhand serenade sebagai solo projectnya yang beraliran accoustic rock. John Vesely dibesarkan sebagai anak seorang musisi jazz professional. Selama 8 tahun Ia bermain sebagai bassist di sebuah band local, dengan genre yang dimainkan yaitu ska, hardcore, rock, dan pop. Setelah lama bermain bass, Ia mulai berpindah ke acoustic guitar dan mulai menulis lagunya sendiri. Pada tahun 2007 Secondhand Serenade meluncurkan album bertitle “Awake” yang disambut hangat dan antusias oleh para fansnya. Pada album pertama ini Secondhand Serenade menggunakan multitrack recording untuk menciptakan suara instrument sebuah band menggunakan teknologi. Canggih ya ? Di Album ini lagu seperti “Awake”, “Vulnerable”, “it’s not over” dan “your call” menjadi lagu-lagu yang sangat disukai oleh para pendengar.

Setelah sukses dengan album pertamanya, Secondhand Serenade kembali merilis album keduanya pada tahun 2008 bertajuk “A Twist In My Story” . Di album kedua John memberikan nuansa berbeda dengan menggunakan sebuah band asli dan sebuah orchestra untuk membangun satu kesatuan musik yang lebih nyata dan full. Tanggal 28 Januari 2008, video klip “Fall For You” diputar pertama kali di acara popular MTV, TRL. Fall For You menjadi single andalan dialbum kedua ini yang membawa nama Secondhand Serenade melejit. Sedangkan video klip “Your Call” dirilis pada tanggal 5 Desember tahun yang sama.

Pada Agustus 2010 Secondhand Serenade kembali merilis album ke-3 nya dengan title“Hear Me Now”. Album ini merupakan refleksi kesalahan yang dilakukan John Vesely Cs di masa lalu. penggarapan ‘Hear Me Now’ cukup berbeda dengan dengan dua album sebelumnya. Secondhand Serenade juga memberikan beberapa sentuhan baru di album tersebut. ‘Hear Me Now’ menampilkan 12 lagu baru. ‘Something More’ pun dipilih sebagai single andalan album tersebut. Di album ini John Vesely benar-benar menggarap albumnya sendiri
